BTW I did want to include this, but I didn't want it overlooked in the hustle & bustle of the race so after consulting with Jenn, we decided to just talk about it after the race. Making these legs has me reading A LOT about other places & it's been so much fun. I have so many new places on the bucket list now. Sometimes though, you learn some of the rough parts of history & since we raced through Dakar, Senegal today, I want to bring up the brutal past with slavery. Take a moment to reflect. If I ever visit Dakar, I will for sure spend a solemn moment at the House of Slaves & it felt right for us to take a "moment of silence" type moment to read up on it.

Surfing
While Dakar has great beaches & waves for the surfing industry, it's also a very music driven community. We are going to combine both in this Detour. You will have to listen to the song below. You will notice that there are no lyrics. That's your job now. You have to write lyrics for the entire song (2 minutes & 2 seconds long) & you then have to film yourself singing your new lyrics with this song playing in the background to make sure it fits with the music. Your lyrics HAVE to be about Surfing & Dakar.

Off-Roading
Dakar has a vast deserted area that often serves as an off road location for some thrill sports. All kinds of racing happens in Dakar, dirt bikes, ATVs, etc. Your job is to unscramble what's below. There's a correlation, if you can figure it out it will make your life easier. 2 of them are 2 words long. The rest are 1 word long.
Rocco says many places have dark histories but appreciates that the hosts take a moment to reflect on atrocities that may occur. Rocco says that it hasn't detracted from the race, and many TAR races going through places with dark histories. It is okay, we are all having fun. But it is good to reflect, Rocco thinks.
On a side note, thank you for taking this game so seriously. Kathy, you have done an amazing job at making this a really fun run. Even if we are running behind, screaming, or struggling, you have created a truly amazing race.
Good luck to everyone tonight and for the finalists tomorrow. Rocco hopes he is one of them.

Thank you Rocco. There are things I need to work on for a second season like how to effectively include Yields & U-Turns, but I am quite proud of this first test run & I had a blast hosting it in every aspect. The research, the challenge making & the cast.
